Kwyjibo Home

Ron has been playing the bass for so long he shudders when he thinks about how many times he's played Girl From Ipanema. Kwyjibo is like a breath of fresh mountain air for him. Born in New York City, Ron grew up in Northern New Jersey and came in contact with many of the area’s finest musicians. His early bass teacher was New York area jazz veteran Ron Naspo, and he started playing his first professional gigs at 15. After graduation from the Indiana University School of Music in 1989, he began working as a professional freelance bass player and has not stopped since. Many of Ron's early musical experiences consisted of witnessing the likes of Jaco, Stanley Clarke, Mark Egan, Ron Carter, Rufus Reid, and many other great bassists in concert. Now he is humbled and honored to continue this great legacy in the bass chair of Kwyjibo.
