Lessons
I didn't see a point in re-inventing the wheel for any of these lessons. If you are looking for instructions on how to solo on II-V-I progressions (or don't know what that is), you may want to turn to another source of information. There are many fine books about that subject and also some websites - check out my Odd Links page.
The lessons on this page are not in any particular order. If they have a number it's because they are linked to a particular tune in the Odd Tune Library. I'll just add them as I come up with them...
- Lesson 1a
Scales taken a step further. Harmonized scales. Fourth chords.
- Lesson 1b
More scales. Chromatic approach. Crossing scales...
- Lesson 2
Polytonal triads - they sound 'inside' and 'outside' at the same time. Tunes like Gilligan's
Island or Kimbrellation use some of that information.
- Lesson 3
Linear melody with chords working as attractors. Used on chorus of "All
the Things you are".
- Lesson 24
This lesson relates to the three Sonatas, Sonata
1, Sonata 2, and Sonata
3. How can you make single lines sound polyphonic.
- Lesson 28
Based on the bridge (B-section) chord progression of the tune Wayne's
World. This deals with soloing on weird chords.
